Annual Evening enjoyed by many

More people than ever turned out for the FCEDC 19th Annual Evening held last night at UW-Fond du Lac.

Chris Clarke-Epstein's presentation delivered a wonderful message -- that sustained leadership and solid focus are necessary to create premier communities. Our gratitude goes out to Chris for her excellent, thought-provoking and invigorating message about how "SHIFT Happens."

Alex Zabel made an exciting announcement about The Winnebago Project, an upscale resort and conference center that will soon grace the shores of Lake Winnebago in North Fond du Lac. (See more information about this project in this Signals Focus in the right-hand column.) The announcement added something extra special to our evening's events.

Resort and conference center project announced

Zabel Holdings, LLC, has announced the development a new full-service resort and conference center on the shores of Lake Winnebago in North Fond du Lac, Wis.  Alex Zabel, Wisconsin real estate broker and developer, has brought his vision for the upscale resort to this exceptional parcel of land.

Positioned for the upscale market, upon completion this unique property will provide over 184+ guest rooms and suites, as well as a concept restaurant, lounge and over 20,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. Major amenities will also include indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and fitness center, and a boat marina complete with private and public slips.

The resort will offer a prime location on Lake Winnebago, the nation’s second-largest freshwater lake, over 28 miles long and 11 miles wide.

An award winning team has been retained to design, build and manage this very special property. That team includes: Alex Zabel, developer;  Dimension IV, architect; CD Smith, construction manager; and Hostmark Hospitality Group, technical services and property manager. Additional attractions and amenities are being explored and plans will be finalized in the foreseeable future. Ground breaking will be scheduled and announced soon after.
