Bremner project highlights importance of collaboration

By now, most of you have heard about the wonderful announcement made recently at Bremner Foods in Ripon. Bremner is known by many as the maker of Rippin’ Good Cookies. Gov. Jim Doyle was present on April 12th to outline the details of $3 million in Enterprise Development Zone tax credits and a $55,000 training grant from the Department of Commerce. Instead of a possible closure, the deal will allow the company to upgrade and expand the facility, saving 300 jobs and creating 100 new jobs over the next two years.

This welcomed news in Ripon is an example of collaboration at its finest and of what is carried out everyday behind the scenes in Economic Development. Those playing vital roles in this turn-around are and continue to be the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, the City of Ripon, The UNITE Production Union,  Bremner Foods Management and Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation.

As we continue to move the economic development picture forward in Fond du Lac County, the region and Wisconsin and compete globally, the importance of cooperation and collaboration will remain and grow. FCEDC is proud of the partners we work with everyday to make announcements like – things that truly make a difference – possible.

Fond du Lac County product featured in magazine

An article in the March 2006 edition of This Old House Magazine features products produced right here in Fond du Lac. “Stone Faced” is a feature article outlining the depth and textures added to walls, foundations and chimneys through rock veneer. Natural Stone Veneers International, owned by Renee and Dennis Buechel, is highlighted as a quality option when shopping for such products. Congratulations to NSVI for this International exposure!
