ExecutivePulse: Call for Volunteers!

FCEDC has been getting the word out about the ExecutivePulse program through previous Signals articles. ExecutivePulse is a web-based business retention and expansion (BR&E) program that will be utilized by the entire Northeast Wisconsin region, including Fond du Lac County.

This serves as our official call for volunteers to help make all of this possible. Specifically, FCEDC is seeking business leaders who are interested in spending some time visiting local manufacturers and other businesses to gather information about their industry, their opportunities, their challenges and other important data.

We will be utilizing ExecutivePulse to enhance existing business development services. Ultimately, the program will allow FCEDC staff and crucial economic development partners to track local, regional and national business trends and compare what is happening in Northeast Wisconsin with other parts of Wisconsin and the country. (All information gathered is kept confidential and only reported in aggregate form.)

Among the positive outcomes, the data will be helpful in predicting upcoming change in the business climate, identifying gaps in business services and products and targeting business attraction cluster industries. The software will streamline data collection and analysis and allow those participating to look at customer data in new ways to make strategic decisions about how to best apply economic, workforce and community development resources.

The technical colleges in the 22-County region, including Moraine Park Technical College, purchased the program for the region, and the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Economic Partnership (NEWREP) sponsored the licensing agreement and associated training costs.

If you are interested in serving as a volunteer for ExecutivePulse, let us know as quickly as possible. Our training sessions will be starting soon. Call Linda Berlin at (920) 322-1878 or email her today.

Wisconsin Small Business Regulatory Review Board -- Public Hearing

Is your small business struggling to overcome state regulatory hurdles? Small business owners will have an opportunity to share with the Small Business Regulatory Review Board their concerns on economic barriers created by unnecessary state regulations.

The public hearing is an opportunity for small businesses to have their voice heard on any negative economic impacts that are created by overly-burdensome regulations.

The hearing will be held Monday, May 14th, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the State Capitol in Madison, room 300SE.

Get a Global Perspective

Wisconsin businesses have multiple resources at their disposal in their efforts to expand international business.  Each May, the directors of our overseas trade offices visit the state to update businesses on market conditions and opportunities around the world.  Whether you are an experienced exporter - or are completely new to the process - this briefing can help you plan your strategies for markets.

Hear first-hand about the market opportunities in Brazil, Canada, China, Europe, Japan and Mexico; discuss business practices and potential; learn about available resources;
network with other local companies and share export experiences and meet individually with Directors to discuss your firm's products and individual needs.

This year’s Global Perspective Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, May 16th from
Noon until 4 p.m. at The Meadows-Green Bay, 850 Kepler Drive, Green Bay.
